Sumario: This paper considers whether exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) from mobile phone use can cause health problems and the impact this could have on the insurance industry. The main conclusions of the report are: the World Health Organisation recommends a precautionary approach; the majority of epidemiological studies show no increased risk of brain cancer; no conclusive evidence of other medical issues has yet been demonstrated; more research needs to be conducted on how exposure affects children; legal cases to date favour the mobile phone industry; EMF cases could be more complex than asbestos claims
