Strengthening health and education through sports in Oaxaca
A total of 130 children and young people were benefit from this program which supports sports in an intersectional way
The entity Fundación Real Madrid, with Fundación MAPFRE‘s support, rolled out the “We Grow” project, in the FRM’s Social Sports School, aimed at girls, boys and young people from the Pintores and Monte Albán communities.
The goal of this project was to bolster their four main lines of action: sports practice, a socio-educational approach, health promotion and affectionate family relationships. In each of the areas mentioned, different aspects are worked on which encourage the personal, educational and social development of the beneficiaries through sport.
The Fundación Real Madrid works to preserve and maintain the historical heritage of the club, to foster the values inherent in sport as their main asset, to encourage comprehensive children and young people’s education and bring about the social inclusion of vulnerable populations. Since the first school was created in Argentina in 2003, the foundation’s work has grown considerably and it currently has 261 schools in more than 72 countries on five continents where more than 33,986 children and young people from at-risk backgrounds benefit from their work.
