Children with neuromuscular and mitochondrial diseases also have a right to enjoy quality of life. This can be achieved by improving their physical and psychological state. Physiotherapy sessions, water therapy, music therapy, and therapy with dogs are important tools for their well-being. Thanks to this project, they can now access them.
Neuromuscular and mitochondrial diseases, apart from being chronic, are progressive and degenerative, and most importantly, do not have effective treatments or a cure.
Knowing this, the Primera Estrella project from the Ana Carolina Díez Mahou Foundation wants to improve the quality of life of children suffering from these diseases, and that of their families, through medical assistance, psychological support and, above all, rehabilitation therapy which directly improves their health.
Thanks to you we have supported this foundation so that they can offer 70 children essential rehabilitation treatment in order to curb the advancement of the disease, to prevent further complications and to improve their current and future quality of life.
The goal of the “Primera Estrella” project has been to provide these children with a personalized physiotherapy program, water therapy, music therapy and therapy with dogs in facilities adapted to their specific needs , something which is often out of the reach of many families.
These four therapies and the qualified professionals who carry them out now allow the Foundation to assist 70 children in developing their motor skills and boosting their independence.
In a stimulating environment, surrounded by professionals who are enthusiastic about improving their situation, these children are closer to discovering the world around them. Thank you for your collaboration.
