Exhibitions in 2016

From 22 October 2016 until 29 January 2017 you can appreciate the meaning of passion for color. The exhibition, which offers a complete and considered presentation of fauvism, brings together over one hundred paintings as well as numerous drawings, watercolors and a selection of ceramic pieces.

The exhibition recently hosted at the Garriga i Nogués exhibition hall in Barcelona moved to Madrid from 22 September. The first retrospective of Bruce Davidson in Spain. Davidson is one of the leading exponents of so-called humanist photography and he is a member of the Magnum agency.

The exhibition dedicated to the Japanese photographer, under the title of Hiroshi Sugimoto. Black Box provides a journey through some of his most famous series and invites us to learn about the work that the artist is working on right now.

Through a selection of 80 great works of art, this exhibition looks to examine the origins and evolution of Divisionism with its main protagonists, including Giovanni Segantini, Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Giaccomo Balla, Angelo Morbelli, Umberto Boccioni, Gino Severini and Carlo Carrà.

An ambitious retrospective of photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, one of the most important and innovative figures of 19th century photography. Organized in collaboration with London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, the exhibition comprises over 100 photographs that give a closer insight into the innovative outlook of this unconventional artist.
