The objective of the Together We Can program is to boost the integration of people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness in the labor market and promote relations between the corporate sector and social entities from an innovative perspective that facilitates the inclusion of this collective.
Although it is undeniable that social progress has been made, people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness are still finding obstacles and impediments when it comes to joining the labor market which hinders their full integration.
We want to get companies to become the driving force behind the transformation of our society in terms of equality and social cohesion. Since 2010, when the program was launched, almost 4,321 companies have come on board and we have visited another 6,118 to explain the program.
The direct beneficiaries of the Together We Can program are unemployed people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness who, through training grants, can do work experience in companies with the chance of getting a job there at a later date. Since 2010, nearly 2,824 people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness have managed to get a job.
