On 1 October we are holding Financial Education Day
Euribor, pension plans, interest rates, and income are some of the financial concepts we hear about on a daily basis. In order to understand them we need to educate ourselves. Financial education will provide us with the basic financial knowledge to help us in our daily lives. Learning about this subject will make us feel more secure and will help us to make the best decisions possible.
Financial education has become all too necessary in a society in which we have to deal with this subject in all areas of our lives. Without even realizing it, we are continually using financial concepts, such as how we pay for our accommodation or when it is the right moment to take out a pension plan as well as how something as natural as having a child can affect our income.
At Fundación MAPFRE we believe in creating a culture around finance and this is why have have teamed up with the Financial Education Day which will be held on 1 October.
Among the various activities which will take place throughout the day, we have organized an expert forum in Seville on pensions where they will discuss the current savings situation and the future retirement of young Spanish people and we will play several rounds of our PlayPension game with vocational training students in the Fundación Tomillo in Madrid. Once again this year, we will be taking part in the main ceremony on 1 October, which will be held in the CNMV's headquarters (C/Edison, 4-Madrid).

Share your tips on saving with us and you could win a 300 euros gift card! As well as gaining financial education you might also be able to treat yourself…
Financial Education Day is an initiative of Finanzasparatodos (Finance for everybody) (Financial Education Plan), developed together with the Bank of Spain and the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), in conjunction with the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds and the General Secretariat of the Treasury and International Finance.
