Road safety takes the streets of Boston
The city of Boston has one thing clear. Mobility, accident prevention and safety policies for its citizens ranks among its highest priorities. This is why, together with Fundación MAPFRE, on 20 September the city has organized the most important event in its Look Both Ways campaign.
In this event which will fill the streets with messages of accident prevention, there will be virtual reality stations to measure driver concentration levels, recreational activities for young and old alike, music, food trucks, information points and many other activities.
After this event, the campaign plans to strengthen its presence in the media and its activities will tour the state of Massachusetts, with a strong presence in universities and also in neighborhood communities, in order to reach the most disadvantaged families.
In addition to stressing the need to avoid distractions at the wheel, the Look Both Ways initiative aims to convey the message that the roads are for all of us and we need to take into account other users when driving on them.
All the activities which are going to be run in this campaign are aimed at bringing about a collective awareness, in order to understand that driving a vehicle, riding a bike or taking a walk have more in common than we think. The campaign's slogan makes this clear: “Everyone thinks they drive properly. Learn about who has priority. Look both ways”.
