Current Project

In Brazil, young people make up a high percentage of the population (in 2014 the figure was 26%). However, despite the evident expansion of the country’s public policies on education, health and social welfare, young people and children are still experiencing serious problems in terms of their rights and they are unable to find opportunities to improve their lives.

Ação Comunitária do Brasil – São Paulo (Vocação) is working to change this reality in five regions in the southern part of São Paulo: Campo Limpo, Capao Redondo, Capela do Socorro/Grajaú, Cidade Ademar and ltapecerica da Serra.

In these areas, the O Cré-Ser project, helps 1,000 highly vulnerable children and young people aged 6 to 14. Through a series of actions aimed at the comprehensive and sustainable development of these children, the project strengthens their ties with their families, friends and the community.  The socioeducational activities are focused on the following areas: Life project, self-care and health; communication activities, digital literacy, creativity, art and diversity; recreational activities, sustainability and human rights.

Through Prepar~ao para o Trabalho we seek to strengthen the life projects and socioemotional development of 480 young people between the ages of 15 and 17, who take part in various socioeducational activities aimed at guaranteeing the right to information, participation, decent work and learning.  The ultimate goal is to prepare them for the world of work.
