The “Semear” project’s ultimate goal is to reduce the risk of social exclusion of children and adolescents between five and twelve years of age living in the district of Morumbi, in São Paulo. The Associação Morumbi de Integração Social – AMIS offers free services on psychosocial and educational counseling to these children and adolescents during non-school hours.
Through play and practical workshops that combine cultural, musical and sports activities as well as recreational games, they work on the values so necessary for their future such as autonomy, leadership and integration.
All the children receive personalized support, allowing them to maximize their skills and abilities. During the hours that they remain at the center after finishing their school day, they also receive two daily meals based on a healthy balanced diet.
Fundación MAPFRE has been involved in this project since December 2012 and its collaboration currently allows 253 children and young people to have access to these services essential to their personal development.
The Sociedade Beneficente da Igreja Batista do Morumbi, AMIS, was founded in 1982 and its aim is to provide support service to the members of the communities of Vila Andrade and Morumbi. Presently, it is working on eight projects in the area.
