Aldeas Infantiles SOS Honduras is carrying out the “Youth Initiative for the Promotion of Self-sufficiency” project in several areas of Honduras. The aim of the project is to facilitate the transition processes leading towards self-sufficiency.
One hundred and fourteen people are benefitting from the project carried out in Honduras with the support of Fundación MAPFRE. The Republic of Honduras is a rugged Central American country, rich in biodiversity. The population of nearly 9 million inhabitants is divided into various ethnic groups: whites or mestizos, the natives, the garifunas, descendants of Africans, and the English-speaking creoles.
The Aldeas Infantiles SOS Honduras organization is carrying out this project which aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in 114 young people between 15 and 18 years of age in the cities of Choluteca, Ceiba and Santa Rosa de Copan.
