The Fundación CMR – Comedor Santa María, A.C is carrying out the project, “Feed a Child,” with the support of Fundación MAPFRE. The project offers a balanced diet to 330 boys and girls between the ages of 4 months and 16 years old who live in extreme poverty.
This initiative, from which pregnant and nursing women also benefit, offers a daily menu which covers 65% of the RDI (Recommended Daily Intake.) In this way, it aims to help the most disadvantaged of society by meeting one of their basic needs, that of food.
In addition, the program includes human training, focusing on educating the children in developing their personalities and their capabilities. The teaching of universal values is developed, and opportunities are created y so that in the future, the children may become productive members of society.
For 11 years the Fundación CMR – Comedor Santa María, A.C has been carrying out projects related to child nutrition and making an important social impact in the communities in which it works. For 20 years it has been offering a full daily menu every day during the school year to children who live in conditions of extreme poverty.
