Actress Eva Longoria visited in early February a project in which Fundación MAPFRE is actively involved in Colombia. The program is focused on supporting teenage mothers and their children, many of them with health problems, in all ways possible.
Both young mothers and their children go to a community complex that belongs to Fundacion Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar located in the area of Ternera, Cartagena de Indias. There they receive education through workshops, healthcare, and psychological and career counseling. The project’s goal is to provide all the assistance needed for them to move forward and have a better chance next to their children.
The actress’s visit is part of her participation in the documentary A Path Appears, which goes deeper in the situations of poverty that women face today in several countries. The documentary, divided into three episodes, also discloses the organizations and individuals who fight every day to address these situations.
