The University of Engineering and Technology of Lima (UTEC), with the support of Fundación MAPFRE, is implementing a scholarship project to ease access to higher education for outstanding young secondary students.
The students have different social and economic realities and these scholarships are centered on those who have demonstrated good academic performance, but who do not have the resources necessary to continue with their university studies.
Once the recipients of the scholarships have been selected, the University monitors the students’ grades and conducts workshops every two weeks to get to know the students’ worries, help clear up their doubts and to evaluate progress. In addition, a report is drawn up on each student with their grades and a follow-up of their university studies.
This project will help the beneficiaries stay motivated to perform well and finish their university degree without being distracted and worried about finances.
