The Asociación Civil Obra Misionera de Jesús y María is carrying out the project: “Personal Hygiene: basic principles for healthy development, both inside and out, for girls and adolescents” with the support of Fundación MAPFRE. Thanks to this project, 40 girls and adolescents from the Casa Hogar Santa María Goretti have their personal hygiene, cleanliness, and medicinal needs covered.
These young people reside full-time at the institution. They come from environments at risk of social exclusion, and from situations of physical and/ or affective abandonment. The aim of the project is to improve the health and the integrity of these girls and adolescents by offering them support with their personal hygiene.
The Asociación Civil Obra Misionera de Jesús y María is a non-profit organization which started in Venezuela in 1971. It aims to promote the development and maintenance of social and charitable works in favor of the needy. It also promotes free education for girls without economic means, as well as their well-rounded development, both spiritual as well as civic.
