The Asociación Civil Obra Misionera de Jesús y María is carrying out the project: “Comprehensive development of girls and adolescents of the Santa Maria Goretti Home” in Carora, Venezuela, with the support of Fundación MAPFRE. The aim of this project is to cover the hygiene, health and nutritional needs of young people of limited resources.

The project is carried out in the “Santa María Goretti Home” where 40 young people at risk of social exclusion, and who find themselves in situations of physical and/or affective abandonment, reside full-time. The home has bedrooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, a dining room, audio-visual and computer rooms and all the necessary services for the children’s correct development

The girls and adolescents attend nearby schools for their education and from there, they return to the “Santa María Goretti Home” where, in addition to lodging, they receive academic help, counseling, and advice on how to deal with possible behaviors which might affect their personal relationships.

The  Asociación Civil Obra Misionera de Jesús y María is a non-profit organization which started in Venezuela in 1971. It aims to promote the development and maintenance of social and charitable works in favor of the needy. It also promotes free education for girls without economic means, as well as their well-rounded development, both spiritual as well as civic.
