Helping a girl speak again after years of silence Helping a young woman overcome her fear of going out alone. These are not empty promises: they are real stories. And behind each one, in addition to lives being transformed, there is technology created with a deeply human purpose.

Mindmuscle is a pediatric neurotechnology project that improves the well-being of children with ADHD, autism, and attention-related difficulties. It combines a wireless dry-electrode EEG headset with an AI-powered mobile app that offers personalized, gamified neurofeedback sessions that can be done at home.

The approach blends science and technology to train the brain in a way that is accessible, non-invasive, and, above all, child-friendly. The aim is clear: to help them strengthen their attention in real time, improve their concentration, and regulate their nervous system.

And how does it do this? Using a headset, specially designed for sensitive children, that assesses the brain’s functional state by recording its bioelectric activity. This is where one of the project’s key elements comes into play:gamification. Thanks to engaging and interactive games, children learn to manage, maintain, and increase their concentration levels almost without realizing it.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the data collected is used to create and continuously update fully personalized training programs, tailored to each child’s brain activity, achieving faster and more lasting results.

For its creators, “This isn’t just about technology; it’s about giving hope to families, creating opportunities for children to thrive, and demonstrating that real change is possible.”

Mindmuscle has been shortlisted as a US-region finalist for our Fundación Mapfre Awards for Social Innovation.

On May 21, the Grand Final will take place in Madrid and will be streamed live on our website, featuring the four shortlisted projects.

We wish them all the best of luck!
