At Fundación Mapfre, we are committed to improving people’s quality of life through prevention by promoting safe behaviors, healthy lifestyle habits, and greater awareness of the risks that can affect well-being in everyday life. Our work is based on a comprehensive approach to health, road safety, and injury prevention, recognizing that living a longer and better life requires coordinated action across the various environments in which people move about, live together, learn, work, and interact.

From this perspective, we promote initiatives aimed at preventing avoidable injuries and encouraging safe, healthy, and sustainable mobility. We are particularly focused on road safety, but also address other areas that are essential for protecting people, such as the home, the workplace, public spaces, and the aquatic environment. Through educational programs and awareness-raising initiatives such as Planet SDG, the Safe and Sustainable Mobility Caravan, Fire Prevention Week, and drowning prevention campaigns, we promote knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that help reduce risks and protect lives before, during, and after dangerous situations.

Health promotion is also a cornerstone of our work. We develop programs that promote healthy lifestyles and help prevent diseases related to daily habits, incorporating a balanced diet, physical activity, emotional well-being, responsible use of technology, and training on how to respond to public health emergencies. Initiatives such as Live Healthily, Control your Network, Learning Together to Save Lives, and Online Well-being reflect this approach to health as a balance between body, mind, and behavior, focusing especially on childhood, teenagers, and educational settings.

In this context, emotional education is becoming increasingly important. We help children, young people, and adults develop competencies that enable them to manage their emotions, make responsible decisions, build healthy relationships, and get along better with others. Prevention is not limited to avoiding accidents or illnesses; it also involves strengthening personal and social skills that help people cope with the challenges of daily life. That is why we have incorporated content and experiences focused on psychological well-being, such as Online Well-being and Emotional Break, which offer practical tools for safeguarding mental health and fostering a more balanced relationship with the digital world.

Education and awareness-raising are the foundation of this task. Our programs are designed for people of all ages, with a special focus on children and young people, because we know that developing responsible habits early on has a decisive impact throughout one’s life. Many of our initiatives are experiential, innovative, and accessible, such as Cyberland, which helps people understand and prevent risks in the digital environment, or the various educational programs on road safety, health, and accident prevention and safety that we carry out in schools, communities, companies, and public spaces.

To enhance the effectiveness of our actions, we promote research, innovation, and the exchange of knowledge. We facilitate research, publications, educational materials, and technical workshops that enable us to make progress in injury prevention, health promotion, and the identification of new social needs. This work is carried out in collaboration with experts, public authorities, private entities, social organizations, and leading institutions, enabling us to design evidence-based solutions aimed at generating a real and measurable impact.

Our work also has a clear international focus. We carry out projects in many different countries, particularly Spain and in Latin America, tailoring our initiatives to different cultural, social, and regional contexts. This international dimension allows us to share knowledge, learn from other contexts, and help address global challenges related to health, safety, mobility, and accident prevention and safety.

Through all these initiatives, the Road Safety, Health, and Accident Prevention and Safety Division of Fundación Mapfre works toward a common goal: to help build a safer, healthier, and more sustainable society. We want to enable people to live longer and better lives by reducing preventable risks, promoting protective environments, and fostering a culture of prevention that supports each person through the different stages and aspects of their lives.
