We are taking part in White (and Yellow) Night
We are opening the doors of our exhibitions on the night of June 6 to celebrate the Pope’s visit

To mark Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Madrid, the city is hosting the cultural initiative White (and Yellow) Night, which aims to make cultural and artistic heritage more accessible to the public.
Fundación Mapfre is joining forces with other national and local cultural organizations and will be extending the opening hours of our Sala Recoletos in Madrid until 1 am, with free admission, on the evening of Saturday, June 6, through to Sunday, June 7. Admission will be subject to capacity.
Visitors will be able to experience our photography exhibitions ‘Richard Avedon. In the American West‘ and ‘Alejandro Cartagena. Ground Rules‘ in a new way. This initiative is part of the cultural and artistic dimension of the Apostolic Journey, which will be reflected in many of the events and will take center stage with the Pope’s visit to the Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Thanks to this event, people who have come to the city to attend the events related to the Apostolic Journey, as well as the general public, will be able to experience the evening in a different way. This cultural initiative is linked to White Night, which we recently celebrated and which originated in Paris in 2002, aiming to make cultural and artistic heritage more accessible to the public. In Spain, the first edition took place in Madrid in 2006. Previous editions have been held in Burgos, Malaga, Albacete, Barcelona, Bilbao, and La Laguna, among other places.
