Challenges and Opportunities in Rural Spain: Asturias

Fundación Mapfre is committed to the rural environment as a space for opportunities and is organizing this meeting in which representatives of the public authorities, the third sector, the private sector, rural Asturias and its most vulnerable inhabitants will provide the keys to promoting the development of innovative solutions adapted to the environment.

• 10:50 am – Round table discussion about new sources of employment. How to tackle a life project in rural areas.
  • The public sector perspective. Ms. Begoña López Fernández, General Director of Agriculture, Agribusiness and Rural Development.
  • The private sector perspective. Ms. Judith Naves, Owner of Astursabor.
  • The third sector perspective. Mr. Pablo Priesca, Honorary Patron of CTIC and former Director General of CTIC (Technology Centre).

  • The public sector perspective. Mr. Enrique Rodríguez Nuño, General Director for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Older People at the Regional Ministry of Social Rights and Well-being.
  • The private sector perspective. Mr. Esteban Gómez Suárez, President of the Asturias College of Nursing.
  • The third sector perspective. Ms. Laura Gutiérrez Naredo, Director of Asociación El Prial.
