Casa Paterna La Gran Familia: an opportunity to grow up in a family in Mexico

In the state of Nuevo León, Mexico, Casa Paterna La Gran Familia tries to ensure that girls, boys and teens who have been deprived of parental care can regain one of their most important rights: to grow up in a family environment.

Since 1981, this organization has been providing a safe and stable home for children and teenagers who, for their own protection, have had to be separated from their original families. The physical, emotional and social well-being of each child is at the heart of its comprehensive care model.

As well as meeting their basic needs: food, housing, clothing and daily care, the organization provides access to education, medical care and mental health services. It also promotes their personal development through sports, arts and educational activities, while ensuring legal representation and protecting the rights of these young people.

With the shared conviction that every child deserves to grow up in a family environment, Fundación MAPFRE helps the organization provide comprehensive care for these children and teenagers and facilitates reintegration processes, whether that be with their original family, with close relatives such as grandparents or aunts and uncles, foster families, or through adoption.

Thanks to this commitment, each year around 75 young people are able to begin a new journey toward a more dignified, stable life filled with opportunities.
