Road Safety

With mobility week in full swing and in an environment in which institutions, companies and associations are carrying out outstanding work in order to raise public awareness of the pressing need to sustain behaviors that bring about safe and sustainable mobility, our Virtual Training Bike project has received this “Muévete Verde” award in the category of Promoting sustainable mobility.

At Fundación MAPFRE we work to encourage active mobility in cities and this is why we put forward transport and recreational initiatives that respect the environment and promote respectful coexistence among all the users of the road. Within this line of action, Virtual Training Bike is an innovative proposal which enables users to practice and experience what it is like to ride a bike around the city using simulators based on 360° videos.

Virtual Training Bike aims to promote bicycle use as an environmentally friendly and healthy means of transport around the city but also wants to help people learn about safe driving before actually going out on the roads.

This project is included within Eccentric-Civitas, a European Union initiative within its Horizon 2020 framework programme for research, which promotes healthier, sustainable and cleaner transport in cities by means of innovative measures to improve sustainable mobility.

We would like to thank the Madrid City Council for this recognition which encourages us to continue working towards safe mobility that is respectful to others and towards the environment.
