One day, something does not quite add up in a medical check-up, or a worrying symptom appears… all of a sudden, uncertainty enters your life. You start looking things up online, questions pile up, and fear creeps in: are you overreacting, or should you really take action?
Duppla was created to provide support around one of the biggest health concerns in Mexico: cancer. It is not intended to replace doctors or provide automated diagnoses, but to guide people from the moment they first have concerns. To do this, the platform combines artificial intelligence (AI) with expert medical knowledge, with the goal of enabling early cancer detection, improving prevention, and supporting patients at every stage.
The process begins with a simple step: filling out a health profile on the platform. Users enter basic information such as their age, sex, family history, and risk factors. Based on this information, in under three minutes, Duppla assesses the risk of developing cancer over the next five years. It also generates a prevention plan addressing potential concerns, with recommendations tailored to each individual profile, including which early detection tests should be performed and how often.
Duppla also supports users throughout the process via its Onco Chat, a specialized WhatsApp channel designed to answer any questions. If concerns or symptoms arise, the medical team responds promptly to evaluate the situation, offering guidance and continued follow-up, with a clear mission: to ensure no one faces cancer alone.
Duppla delivers an innovative and unique healthcare model. Its approach and social impact led the judging panel to select this initiative as a finalist in the 9th edition of the Fundación Mapfre Awards for Social Innovation.
On May 21, the Grand Final will be held in Madrid, where four innovative, socially committed projects will compete for the title. We wish all participants the best of luck and thank them for transforming lives and improving our world.
