Current Project

Children and teenagers who require long-term medical treatment face significant challenges in terms of continuing their education and preserving their emotional well-being. Illness, hospitalization, and prolonged absences from school can affect their academic, social, and personal development.

For more than 26 years, Aprendo Contigo has been working in Lima to ensure that these children do not miss out on the opportunity to learn and keep building their future. Through its hospital classrooms, located in hospitals and shelters, the organization provides educational support and socioemotional care to more than 200 children each day, helping them stay connected to school throughout their ongoing medical treatment.

Thanks to our support, the quality of this intervention will be strengthened through the addition of a Hospital Education Coordinator and a Hospital Psychologist, who will support the work of the volunteer teams, promote training and supervision processes, and enhance the emotional care provided to beneficiaries and their families.

This partnership will help create more spaces for learning, support, and hope for hundreds of children and teens, ensuring that illness does not interrupt their right to an education or diminish their opportunities for the future.
