2026 Exhibitions

At the Madrid gallery, the season began with the successful and thought-provoking retrospective dedicated to the Swedish painter Anders Zorn—the Spanish debut of a comprehensive overview of his work—alongside another extensive retrospective of one of the great photographers of the 20th century, the American Helen Levitt. The summer once again featured a double bill of photography: one of the great portrait series of the 20th century: In the American West, by Richard Avedon, alongside Ground Rules, the first extensive presentation in Spain of the work of the Dominican-Mexican artist Alejandro Cartagena. In Barcelona, the KBr’s photography program presented a comprehensive retrospective of Walker Evans, an undisputed master of documentary photography, followed by an exhibition dedicated to Carlos Pérez Siquier, a key figure in the modernization of Spanish photography. The summer program offered an opportunity to discover the work of American photographer Minor White, still relatively little known in Europe, as well as—within the program dedicated to showcasing collections held by Catalan institutions—the work of Tusquets de Cabirol.
