2024 Reinsurers Ranking

The first edition of the Reinsurers Ranking presents an analysis of the performance of the 25 largest reinsurance groups globally, ranked according to gross written premiums and adjusted under uniform comparability criteria. The study features a global ranking as well as rankings for the Life and Non-Life segments, and covers the period 2014–2024, offering a comprehensive overview of the evolution of the global reinsurance market. In 2024, this sector showed solid and stable growth, driven by the strength of the Non-Life segment, especially in catastrophic coverage, and by the expansion of the Life business, associated with longevity and savings-related risk transfers. From a structural perspective, the market is trending toward deconcentration and competitive diversification, as reflected in the reduction in market share of the main groups. These results show a sector in transformation, with new players, specialized models, and constant adaptation to global regulatory, financial, and risk management challenges.
