Completed Project

The “Fundación Real Madrid Social Sports School” project, run by this Foundation and the International Studies Foundation, and which relies on Fundación MAPFRE’s backing, aims to contribute to the human development of children from marginalized families in the Miami and Hialeah communities through a socio-sports program.

The program works with 120 children from 8 to 11 years old, and is run in two Florida Schools, “Kensington Park Elementary School and Ernest Graham K-8 Center”. Both schools are located in socially-challenged communities, with the former having a school dropout rate above the average in the United States.

This project seeks to socially integrate children living in vulnerable situations through a sports and values-learning program, which will have two sports sessions a week and is supplemented by talks on healthy lifestyles, the importance of team work, fair play, integration, gender equality, team spirit and fighting discrimination

The Fundación Real Madrid works to preserve and maintain the historical heritage of the club, to foster thevalues inherent in sport as their main asset, to encourage comprehensive child and youth education and bring about the social inclusion of vulnerable populations. Since the first school was created in Argentina in 2003, the foundation’s work has grown considerably and it currently has 261 schools in more than 72 countries on five continents where more than 33,986 children and young people from at-risk backgrounds benefit from their work.
