We are human, we are united in solidarity
December 20 marks International Human Solidarity Day

Social Action
In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed December 20 International Human Solidarity Day. Since then, this day has served as an annual reminder that solidarity, unity, empathy, and cooperation are essential tools for growing as a society and for facing the challenges of today’s world together.
This December 20 offers a new opportunity to actively embrace a vision of a more caring world and—taking advantage of the end of the year and the arrival of a new one—to reflect on how our daily decisions impact others. How do we respond to injustice? Do we support the people who need it? Do we truly care about the well-being of others?
At Fundación MAPFRE, solidarity is the way we fight for social justice. We understand that it is key to our development as individuals and as a community. That is why it lies at the heart of our programs, our actions, everything we do, and everything we are.
We invite you to transform International Human Solidarity Day into a shared hope and a lasting commitment as we move toward 2026: that in the coming year, solidarity will not be just a one-off act, but an ongoing attitude, something that stays with you throughout the year and guides the way you relate to people, communities, and the world we share.
