Movilidad 3S: teaching safe mobility has its rewards
Our program in Colombia is recognized at the FIA Americas Awards for its educational impact on road safety

Road Safety
In Colombia, road accidents are one of the leading causes of death, including among children and young people. That is why it is not only advisable, but essential, to learn how to get around safely on public roads from an early age.
With this goal in mind, in 2021, Fundación MAPFRE, together with the Fundación Touring & Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC), launched the Movilidad 3S program. Since then, more than 500,000 children and young people aged 4 to 17 have been taught how to travel safely, healthily, and sustainably.
Movilidad 3S is not just a workshop: it is a space where children can play, learn, and practice safe behavior on public roads. Using fun, age-appropriate methods, students learn to identify risks, make responsible decisions, and understand that they are also important participants in the mobility of their cities.
The program is supported by an interdisciplinary team of trainers and has been rolled out in more than 500 educational centers across the country, from preschool to high school, in cities including Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali, Ibagué, Medellín, and Villavicencio.
Movilidad 3S is proof that education saves lives; its work has been recognized in the Mobility and Road Safety category at the FIA Americas Awards 2026, held in Panama City.
Receiving this recognition confirms that the innovation and commitment with which the program was created are succeeding in their goal: to make our streets a safer place for children and young people.
