This initiative aims to comprehensively strengthen the rural care ecosystem for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias through a specialized training program aimed at social and healthcare professionals, home help service staff, pharmacy and social services professionals, as well as non-professional caregivers.

The initiative bolsters the skills of everyone involved, moves beyond fragmented training models, and promotes more effective cross-sector and social-health coordination. Using a hybrid method (face-to-face, videoconferencing, and online) and providing technology in community spaces and homes through Smart TV, it ensures universality and accessibility and reduces the digital divide in rural areas.

The program improves home care practices, standardizes professional criteria, and optimizes early detection, comprehensive treatment, and support throughout all stages of dementia. It also promotes interdisciplinary coordination circuits, protocols, and referral channels that consolidate a sustainable regional model. It also encourages the creation or strengthening of associations and support networks in areas lacking specialized cover.

The goal is to help people with dementia remain in their familiar environment, preserving family and community ties, as well as reducing unwanted loneliness among caregivers.
