Main objectives of the project:

Cuidándonos en Comunidad (Caring for Each Other in the Community) is a project designed to promote independence and enable people with disabilities and/or dependency living in rural areas to remain in their own homes.

The project works by training qualified personal carers, technologically adapting homes, and coordinating with social services, promoting accessible, personalized, and person-centered care.

Description of the target group:

On the one hand, the project is aimed at people with disabilities, older adults, and people in situations of dependency who live in rural areas and need support in their daily lives.

On the other hand, it is aimed at people in rural areas who are unemployed or vulnerable, especially women, who can participate in training programs as personal carers and gain access to new job opportunities in the field of caregiving.

Expected improvements or impacts:

The initiative has a threefold impact:

  • Direct improvement in the quality of life and independence of the people receiving care;
  • Strengthening of employment and social capital in rural areas;
  • Transformation of care towards a more humane, inclusive, and efficient model.

Finally, the project helps to retain the population, redistribute opportunities, and activate social innovation processes from within the region itself.
