Ranking of the Largest European Insurance Groups

The 2024 Ranking of Europe’s Largest Insurance Groups by revenue analyzes the financial performance of the sector’s top 15 groups over the 2023-2024 period, based on their annual financial statements and consolidated comparative data. For the second consecutive year, the analysis employs the methodological approach aligned with IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards, focusing on insurance service revenue instead of gross written premiums, which are no longer mandatorily reported. In addition, this edition incorporates an analysis of the contractual service margin (CSM) and investment profitability, seeking to facilitate a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the sector. The report also maintains the presentation of key indicators such as solvency levels, combined ratios, net income and balance sheet structure of the insurance groups analyzed.
