If there is one thing that has really come to light in this COVID-19 pandemic, it is the crucial role played by sciencetechnology and knowledge in human progress, as a collective aspiration for each individual to fully develop their potential in the most appropriate social environment and on a planet that must be protected for both present and future generations.

In these uncertain times it is good to know that there are organizations like Fundación Carolina committed to education with the universal aspiration of progress for humanity as a whole, as reflected in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Fundación Carolina is convening these scholarships for the twenty-first time, the core focus of which is to offer higher education in science and technology based around the five ‘Ps’: care of the planet; the development of people; a prosperity that leaves no-one behind; peace, justice and solid, accountable institutions; and associations and partnerships among all the stakeholders.

Universities in Spain and all the countries in the Ibero-American Community of Nations will provide training and research opportunities in all the fields of the 2030 Agenda: basic science and technology, public health, economy and employment, and the social and political spheres. The 504 scholarships on offer are divided into postgraduate and doctoral grants, post-doctoral stays, teacher mobility scholarships, and institutional study scholarships. The call also has a very inclusive component in terms of functional diversity and includes specific programs aimed at addressing the gender gap in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

These grants fall within the common framework of the Spanish Cooperation Scholarships, comprising the scholarships of Fundación Carolina and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID).

If you meet the requirements and want to make the 2030 Agenda a reality, apply for a scholarship now.
