According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than 3.5 million people have crossed the Ukrainian border to escape the war since the onset of the conflict, and the number of displaced people who have had to leave their homes and migrate to safer parts of the country has risen to 10 million.

Many of the people who cross the border enter Romania through the Siret crossing after days of walking, with no food, long queues, and sleeping in the open. The majority are women and children. When they arrive, the Mensajeros de la Paz Foundation welcomes them, providing them with shelter, basic humanitarian aid such as food and water, and comfort.

Thanks to your generosity, we are sending 163,400.56 euros to this organisation that is taking in Ukrainians fleeing the bombs and horror, and this will be used to cover their most urgent needs.

We have been able to raise this amount thanks to the donations of so many individuals, in addition to the contribution made by Fundación MAPFRE and other companies in which the Group has holdings, such as Solunion. Together we have created a true solidarity network.

Fundación MAPFRE would like to thank everyone who has been involved in this campaign. Thank you for your contribution and your empathy with the thousands of people who are currently suffering the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Generosity transcends borders and conflicts. Solidarity makes us stronger. We no longer have the slightest doubt: Together we can go further.
