Nomura is one of the most important Japanese photographers of her generation. Her black and white shots of male nudes are perhaps the best known of her work. The exhibition Tender Is the Night includes these mysterious and erotic portraits alternating with images of animals, still lifes, cityscapes, atmospheric phenomena, moving lights and reflections, and other subjects, weaving interrupted cinematographic narratives, laden with allegorical meanings about the transience of existence.
The catalog includes the complete selection of images from the exhibition, as well as texts by Enrique Juncosa, the curator of the show, Simón Baker and Michiko Kasahara.
