Current Project

In five schools located in areas of high socioeconomic vulnerability in the Dominican Republic—Villa Mella, El Almirante, Dajabón, Baní, and El Valle—the Entreculturas – Fe y Alegría Foundation aims to guarantee inclusive, quality education for girls and boys in their early academic careers.

These children grow up in communities with major limitations, including a lack of access to basic services, high levels of poverty, and precarious conditions that directly impact their educational development.

The selected schools, located in peripheral and marginalized areas, reflect systemic issues such as learning delays, limited family involvement in school life, and, in some cases, child labor or food insecurity.

This project aims to directly benefit 3,092 people: the teaching teams at these schools (teachers and coordinators); children between the ages of 3 and 8; and families from five educational communities living in vulnerable situations.

The teachers will receive ongoing training and technical support to bolster their skills, while the children will have access to improved learning environments and appropriate teaching resources. At the same time, families and guardians will take part in awareness-raising sessions on their essential role in the right to education. The project will also promote protective, violence-free environments.

In this way, these five schools will become spaces for social transformation, guaranteeing quality educational experiences that will help reduce inequalities and promote early childhood development.
