Fundación Los Pinos is working to reduce the school dropout rate among vulnerable children and adolescents in the deprived neighborhood of Barrio Casavalle, in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The Oriental Republic of Uruguay is located in the southeastern region of South America, with the Río de la Plata, which separates it from Argentina, to the south. More than half of the nation’s population is concentrated in the metropolitan area of the capital, Montevideo. Among development indexes, it can boast of having the highest rate of literacy in Latin America and the most equitable distribution of income of the region. A project which is being developed in the capital of Montevideo is receiving support from the Fundación MAPFRE.
