To mark the centenary of the publication of the First Surrealist Manifesto by André Breton, the exhibition “1924. Other Surrealisms” analyzes the influence of this movement in Spain and offers a new perspective on the movement in a place that, in the 1920s and 1930s, was on the periphery of the European avant-garde. As well as showcasing the work of key figures such as Dalí, Domínguez, Miró and Magritte, the exhibition highlights the work of lesser-known artists from Spain and Latin America, as well as the contribution of women to the group.
This 344-page catalog compiles the works that form part of the exhibition, as well as texts by Isabel Coixet and Estrella de Diego, the exhibition curator, among others.
