ACRICA brings education and art to underprivileged environments
Casa dos Girassóis provides support to 241 minors in Piraguara

The Associação de Apoio a Criança e ao Adolescente (ACRICA) runs this project, with the support of Fundación MAPFRE, at the Casa dos Girassóis in the city of Piraguara. The initiative cares for 300 minors who live in an environment marked by violence, drugs and a lack of leisure options.
The project offers children and young people various extracurricular activities, with special emphasis on theater and performing arts, in addition to other activities that give them access to digital inclusion and musical education. Students are trained in various skills, including diction, memory, body control, logic and social coexistence.
Another area of action this project focuses on is nutrition. Casa dos Girassóis offers these children four meals a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner).
ACRICA has more than 22 years of experience of working to meet the real needs of the population in the city of Piraquara, developing projects with the aim of improving the quality of life of children and their families, encouraging them to exercise their full citizenship.
