“Working for a future” offers a safe environment to develop without fear

Completed Project
The project “Working for a future” carried out by the Fundación Sor Dominga Bocca with the support of Fundación MAPFRE, cares for girls whose rights have been abused in the city of Guayaquil, in Ecuador.
To ensure their correct development, the girls receive housing, health and psychological care, academic training and school supplies, providing them with a comprehensive education.
The project creates spaces which help channel communication and to help manage the feelings generated by abuse, mistreatment, etc. By working on their self-esteem, these girls can improve their physical and mental health.
Among the activities developed by this initiative areindividual and group therapy, the development of workshops and talks, and training for the girls’ families, volunteers and Fundación staff. It is about creating spaces that help channel communication and to manage the psyco-affective effects caused by abuse and mistreatment. By working on their self-esteem, these girls can become physically and psychologically healthy people and able to rejoin society.
