The Panama Social Sports Schools, run by the Fundación Amigos del Real Madrid and which has been supported byFundación MAPFRE since 2009 offers an alternative to children and young people who could be exposed to social risks: gangs, alcohol, drugs, broken homes, etc.
The purpose of this program which caters to 196 minors from 6 to 17 years old in Panama City, works to promote education in values through practicing sports and through other activities which contribute to their overall education.
The school uses sports to encourage and promote theintegration of the beneficiaries who come from various social backgrounds and helps them become examples for others.
The Fundación Real Madrid works to preserve and maintain the historical heritage of the club, to foster thevalues inherent in sport as their main asset, to encourage comprehensive children and young people's education and bring about the social inclusion of vulnerable populations. Since the first school was created in Argentina in 2003, the foundation's work has grown considerably and it currently has 261 schools in more than 72 countries on five continents where more than 33,986 boys, girls and young people from at-risk backgrounds benefit from their work.
