Fundación MAPFRE contributes to the work of the Cupey Home for Girls by supporting the education of 15 young girls who have suffered from abuse and have been transferred to this entity from the Family Department of Puerto Rico.
Through the “Scholarship Program for Integrated Development and Education of Abused Girls,” the young girls attend classes in various private schools in the city of San Juan. Besides having the opportunity to receive this education, the project supports them with a tutoring program and another that promotes the development of their studies.
The project helps girls with deep emotional wounds caused by some kind of abuse from their parents or guardians. The home staff welcomes them through a unique system of individual cottages in a safe and warm family atmosphere.
Cupey Home for Girls is a non-profit organization that has been working in Puerto Rico for more than 60 years to support children and youth in distress.
