The Foundation for the Support of Abandoned Children (FANA) with the collaboration of Fundacion MAPFRE, provides high quality comprehensive care and protection of boys and girls in vulnerable situations. The project looks after 87 such children, from newborns to 12 years old in the suburb of Suba.
The FANA center is based on a program which focuses on nutrition, health, education, and comprehensive development. It provides a life of dignity to the children, whether it be alongside their birth families or within a new adoptive family which FANA will help to identify and make ready for the adoption process.
The children, for various reasons, find themselves in vulnerable situations or suffer from family abandonment. During the time that they live in the FANA facility, they receive all the care necessary for them to grow up strong and fit and to develop in the healthiest environment.
The final aim of the project is to ensure that the children grow up in favorable conditions which will foster their physical and emotional rehabilitation, and at the same time, favor their development, according to their specific needs.
FANA has been working on behalf of children in situations of vulnerability for 40 years. Every month they provide assistance to an average of 280 children.
