The Fundación CMR – Comedor Santa María, A.C., with the support of Fundacion MAPFRE, looks after and feeds 330 boys, girls and pregnant or nursing mothers without financial resources who live in Santa Fe, Mexico City.

The Comedor Santa Fe is in an area of difficult access to shops and medical services. Young children lack access to basic foods. The community also suffers from problems of violence, drug addiction and school dropout.

With a proper diet, these boys and girls improve their intellectual performance, and in turn, the percentage of school dropout decreases, bettering the children’s chances for a future. Every day, the Fundación offers a meal to the children of between four months and 16 years of age and to pregnant or nursing mothers, which covers 100% of their daily requirements.

The values program aims to offer the boys and girls the necessary tools to develop their abilities, control their emotions and use their freedom for their own good and for that of others.

For 11 years the Fundación CMR – Comedor Santa María, A.C. has been carrying out projects related to child nutrition and has made an important social impact in the communities in which it works. It also has 20 years’ experience in providing daily nourishment whenever needed.
