The Casa de niños Manuel Fernández Juncos, together with the support of Fundación MAPFRE runs the project entitled “Scholarships for Education and Comprehensive Development for Children whose Rights have been Violated”, which offers 15 young residents of their home in Puerto Rico the opportunity to go to private school.

The project seeks to help these children from difficult family backgrounds enjoy a safer school environment where they can make the most of their classes and aspire to greater things.

The scholarships cover school tuition fees and monthly costs as well as other expenses for their comprehensive development. In addition, the project includes the constant monitoring of the child's adaptation to the new school environment with a view to ensuring their comprehensive development.

The Casa de Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos is a hostel for children, adolescents and young people from 8 to 18 years old. It has been offering a home to abandoned or mistreated children in Puerto Rico since 1929.
