The Laudes Infantis Foundation with the support of Fundación MAPFRE, is carrying out the “School for leaders of social and productive enterprises” project, whose objective is to develop the respect for, and the exercising of, Human Rights and the Environment, governability, the strengthening of society, and the promotion of business schemes and access to employment.
The program is happening in neighborhoods on the outskirts of Bogotá such as Bella Flor, San Jose de los Sauces and Arrayanes, where poverty and unemployment rates are highest. In total, 140 members of these communities, among them children, young people and adults, benefit directly from this training and psycho-social program. This population is hard-hit by the structural violence of the country following more than 50 years of war. The program gives these people the necessary tools to construct life projects which will allow them to overcome the vulnerable conditions in which they find themselves.
Laudes Infantis Foundation has been using the practice of barter as a strategy for bringing dignity to each of the members of the communities, who exchange goods depending on their capabilities and needs, directly increasing their self–esteem.
Since 1999, the Laudes Infantis Foundation has been transforming the lives of the inhabitants of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods of Bogota through various training programs and awareness projects.
