The Juan Felipe Gómez Escobar Foundation, better known as Juanfe, with the active collaboration of Fundación MAPFRE, is celebrating 15 years of work dedicated to the comprehensive support of teenage mothers and their children in the city of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia).
In these 15 years of work, Juanfe has managed to save the lives of 4,100 children. It has enabled 3,400 teenage mothers to manage their own lives. A total of 168,000 patients have been treated at the Juan Felipe IPS Medical Center, of whom 17,700 have been treated for malnutrition in the Nutritional Recuperation Program. The Fundación managed to reduce infant mortality in Cartegena de Indias by 81% in its first seven years.
Fundación MAPFRE knows firsthand the importance of the work which Juanfe has been carrying out, as the two have been collaborating for many years. From here, we want to congratulate them on their anniversary and wish them many more years of work improving the quality of life of infants and adolescents living in situations of extreme poverty.
