Mexico City hosted the celebration of the First National Meeting on Inclusive Education and School Success in which Fundacion MAPFRE took part in. To the meeting representatives from the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) attended, as well as from the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (CONAPRED) and representatives of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) in Mexico.

The event aimed to promote a space for thinking about the educational practice related to inclusive education and school success. As part of the meeting, also the awards ceremony of the XI National Contest of Successful Experiences of Inclusive Education were held, which recognizes the work that the school community, staff and family make to achieve inclusive education of students with disabilities and students with high capacities.

The aim of these awards is to make experiences of educational inclusion public so that these may be established as guidelines for other educators and school areas. In this year’s contest, the work of entities from a total of 27 states of Mexico were submitted, which were reviewed by experts in educational inclusion at national and international levels.
