La Casa de Niños Manuel Fernandez Juncos is behind the “Scholarships for Education and Comprehensive Development of Children at Risk” project, supported by Fundacion MAPFRE. This initiative helps children and adolescents in their studies by offering them the opportunity to attend private schools where they can improve their academic performance.
In these centers, children can find a safe environment in which they receive both academic and work education, through programs in classrooms and workshops. The project covers tuition and school fees and other expenses associated with the comprehensive development of the children and adolescents. In addition, the project addresses problems associated to abuse, abandonment or neglect.
The program supports children and young people aged between 8 and 18 who come from troubled or unstructured homes, where it is impossible to give them experiences for healthy development. In the House they are provided with food, shelter, medical and psychological services, and emotional support.
For nearly a century, since 1924, La Casa de Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos has been carrying out valuable work on behalf of the most disadvantaged children and youth of Puerto Rico.
