You are conscious of your well-being and that of others. Every day, when you put on your mask, you protect those around you and take care of your health. But how would you feel if by wearing your mask you also support the disabled who are suffering from loneliness and helplessness aggravated by the Covid-19 crisis?
The economic problems, the furloughs, the loss of income caused by the pandemic has made the situation even worse. Those with intellectual disabilities are the most vulnerable: the disabled and their families are going through a hard time alone.
We can all help them. Through our SéSolidario (Be Charitable) program, for every 10 euros that you donate to the Soledad Cero (Zero Loneliness) campaign, which promotes innovative solutions that contribute to the families of people with disabilities improving their quality of life, we will give you one of our solidarity masks. Delivery within Spain only and the amount will be donated in full to the campaign. Your donation is very important.
Our face masks* comprise three layers, provide two-way protection and can be washed up to 30 times. They protect you and those around you and are a symbol of the need to build a network of support among us all to help families and people with intellectual disabilities who experience difficulties with loneliness and isolation.
Furthermore, next Tuesday 1st December, #GivingTuesday will be is celebrated, the global solidarity movement that promotes the culture of cooperation and collaboration through donations and volunteering. Take advantage of this special day to act against the loneliness and needs of the disabled. Help us, offer the best of you so nobody feels lonely.
The Soledad Cero (Zero Loneliness) campaign has been launched by Plena Inclusión (Total Inclusion) to alleviate the loneliness and isolation suffered by people with disabilities and their families, in many cases aggravated by a very difficult economic situation.
According to a survey carried out by Plena Inclusión (Total Inclusion) in Madrid and in which 1,052 people participated, one out of every three families of people with intellectual disabilities, is facing the Covid-19 crisis with great difficulties. The intensity and frequency of help required by people with intellectual or development disabilities, means that one in four family members has had to leave their job or reduce their working hours to look after them.
Your donation is greatly needed. Help us to create a support network that reduces the risk of loneliness. Make your donation and show your solidarity mask.
