The CESAL organization and Fundacion MAPFRE, are carrying out the “Accompanying a generation” project which offers 300 boys, girls and adolescents opportunities to improve their quality of life in Oaxaca, Mexico.
It is being carried out in the Maria de Guadalupe Community Development Center, and principally involves 4 fundamental pillars of development: nutrition, education, personal growth and family accompaniment.
The work in education aims to reduce the children’s low academic level by way of three main strategies: early infant development, the identification of and attention to problems related to cognitive development, and stimulation of abilities and skills from an early age.
This regime of support in academic and emotional skills reduces the possibility of the children falling into risky and dangerous behavior.
The CESAL NGO has been involved in international cooperation since 1988 and currently is present in 12 countries in Latin America and Africa. Its programs focus on education, health, living conditions, water and sanitation projects as well as productive development, micro-business, job training and the strengthening of civil society.
